Pros. It does give the user instant gratification in that all you need to do is input your text & choose a few options & then.. I am, it get's boring quickly & leaves you a little frustrated at how few options you really have. Cons. Very few options - only a few text choices & no fun ones; background can only be a solid color, not even texture; you can't control the speed of the animations & they all seem to be very fast; you only have room for one line of text, you can't combine features - like, I wanted to annimate a quote but could only create one line of it. I couldn't save the one line & then have a second line with different text come up. Then, most disappointing & irritating of all was to find that after spending the better part of an hour getting my project just the way I wanted it, when I went to save it, only then did it tell me that as a trial version the only effect that could be saved was the "standard" effect. I felt like I wasted a lot of time & will probably delete this (even though there is no time limit on it that I could see) just because of the limitations. I would rather have a full- featured free version with the maker's name attached on the final project than have a limited version like this with no Maker ID attached - full featured with ID attached is better free advertising I would think. Only download this if you are totally new to this stuff. Reply to this review. Was this review helpful?(2) (0) Pros. Horsepower To Torque Converter CalculatorHow do you convert engine torque to horsepower? ВВHave you ever looked at the specs of an engine in a magazine and seen something like "this engine makes 3. RPM," and wondered how much power that was? What's the difference between torque and horsepower? Read about what sets torque and horsepower apart, and how one affects the other. Horsepower (hp) is a unit of measurement of power (the rate at which work is done). There are many different standards and types of horsepower. The term was adopted. To get from pound-feet of torque to horsepower, you need to go through a few conversions. The number 5,252 is the result of lumping several different conversion. Hydraulic systems. By far the most common form of torque converter in automobile transmissions is the hydrokinetic device described in this article. How much horsepower are we talking about here? You can calculate how many foot- pounds of horsepower this engine produces using a common equation: The engine that makes 3. RPM produces [(3. RPM. But where does the number 5,2. To get from pound- feet of torque to horsepower, you need to go through a few conversions. The number 5,2. 52 is the result of lumping several different conversion factors together into one number. Horsepower to Torque Calculator is an online tool used in electrical engineering to calculate how much torque will be generated according to the input power value. Horsepower & Torque Calculator. Calculate your Horsepower based on Torque & RPM. Use the utility below for calculating the horsepower output based on torque and RPM. First, 1 horsepo. Вwer is defined as 5. How Horsepower Works to find out how they got that number). The units of torque are pound- feet. So to get from torque to horsepower, you need the "per second" term. You get that by multiplying the torque by the engine speed. But engine speed is normally referred to in revolutions per minute (RPM). Since we want a "per second," we need to convert RPMs to "something per second." The seconds are easy - - we just divide by 6. Now what we need is a dimensionless unit for revolutions: a radian. A radian is actually a ratio of the length of an arc divided by the length of a radius, so the units of length cancel out and you're left with a dimensionless measure. ВYou can think of a revolution as a measurement of an angle. One revolution is 3. Since the circumference of a circle is (2 x pi x radius), there are 2- pi radians in a revolution. To convert revolutions per minute to radians per second, you multiply RPM by (2- pi/6. This gives us the "per second" we need to calculate horsepower. Let's put this all together. We need to get to horsepower, which is 5. RPM). If we divide the 5. So if you multiply torque (in pound- feet) by engine speed (in RPM) and divide the product by 5,2. RPM is converted to "radians per second" and you can get from torque to horsepower - - from "pound- feet" to "foot- pounds per second."For related articles on torque, horsepower and engines, check out the links on the next page. Enable Previous Versions for Windows Vista to restore folders to a restore point. Recently, I accidentally deleted all the contents of a file folder on my Windows Vista system. I thought I had lost all my files at first. But later I thought the Previous Versions feature may survive me from this heartbreaking situation. I did not carry much hope since I was not remembering that I activated the Previous Versions. If you accidentally delete or rename a file or folder, you can restore a previous version. Windows Vista. You can use previous versions of files to restore. I was hopefully lucky that I could restore all my deleted files back to original states by using the Previous Versions feature of the Microsoft Windows Vista. So I wanted to share this experience with you and tell you how you can activate this feature Previous Versions on your computers. Previous versions actually is not a new feature for Microsoft. It was existing on servers with the name Shadow Copies that is periodically backing and versioning folders and files on disks. But now with Windows Vista it is very easy for clients to get benefit from this versioning of files. All disks marked as available for automatic restore are copied for shadow copies all at once and this snapshot is named as restore point. By default Windows Vista creates restore points daily. Turn On System Protection and Enable Previous Versions. To enable our Windows Vista to use Previous Versions, the System Protection must be turned on. Each disk or each disk partion must be seperately activated for Previous Versions. To turn on System Protection open Control Panel (c: windows/system. System icon. This option will open a basic information screen about your computer including system, computer name, domain name, and workgroup settings and activation status. On the left pane click the “System protection” link button. To display System Properties screen for common tasks on your system, you will need administration permissions and you will be requested to continue by Windows User Account. The System Protection tab in the System Properties screen contains information about System Restore and previous versions of files and enables you to activate previous versions file protection on disks available on your computer. If you select the checkbox next to the disks listed in the Available Disks list, you can activate previous versions for the selected lists. If previous versions is already active for a disk as you see on the sample screenshot you will also see most recent restore point for that disk. You can create a restore point by using the Create.. When you click the Create button to define a new restore point, you are requested to enter a descriptive name for the restore point. Then until the below success message is displayed, a progress bar is shown on the screen. After the success message is shown, the most recent restore points are updated on the list to reflect the latest changes. How to restore files from previous versions. After previous versions on a disk drive is activated, you can restore files from a restore point in the past. This means if you have a file deleted or updated, you can get back its previous version from the restore points before the update or delete process has taken place. To view a file from previous versions or copy a file from previous versions, open the Properties screen of the disk drive that the files were originally created on. Or again open the Properties tab of the folder which was containing the files you want to restore older versions or copy from older versions. Then navigate to the Previous Versions tab. Select an approtiate version for the related folder. For example, I have deleted a text file named Support. Link. txt from the folder D: \SQL2. To restore the deleted file, open the SQL2. Previous Versions tab as shown below. After an approtiate restore point or a folder version that may contain the desired file is selected, click the Open button. The folder of that version will be displayed on the screen as viewing a current existing folder in the Windows Explorer window. The folder name contains the date that the folder was backed up as a restore point. You will see that the deleted file that I want to restore Support. Link. txt exists in the previous version of the folder SQL2. You can also realize that on the left side pane, the D drive and its sub folder structure takes place. You can restore any file back from that point of time to current date. By opening the context menu on the related file by a right click, you can copy the file, or open the file than save it in any folder in the current file structure, or directly print it, etc. So, it is very easy to configure your new Microsoft Windows Vista systems to use Previous Versions to get your folders and files shadow copies regularly and. 95501 Zip Code profile - homes, apartments, schools, population, income, averages, housing, demographics, location, statistics, sex offenders, residents and real. Computer hardware (or simply hardware in computing contexts) is the collection of physical elements that constitutes a computer system. Computer hardware is the physical parts or components of a computer, such as the monitor, mouse, keyboard, computer data storage, hard disk drive (HDD), graphic cards, sound cards, memory (RAM), motherboard, and so on, all of which are tangible physical objects.[1] By contrast, software is instructions that can be stored and run by hardware. Software is any set of machine- readable instructions that directs a computer's processor to perform specific operations. A combination of hardware and software forms a usable computing system.[2]Von Neumann architecture[edit]. Von Neumann architecture scheme. The template for all modern computers is the Von Neumann architecture, detailed in a 1. Hungarian mathematician John von Neumann. This describes a design architecture for an electronic digital computer with subdivisions of a processing unit consisting of an arithmetic logic unit and processor registers, a control unit containing an instruction register and program counter, a memory to store both data and instructions, external mass storage, and input and output mechanisms.[3] The meaning of the term has evolved to mean a stored- program computer in which an instruction fetch and a data operation cannot occur at the same time because they share a common bus. Computer hardware (or simply hardware in computing contexts) is the collection of physical elements that constitutes a computer system. Computer hardware is the physical parts or components of a computer, such as the monitor, mouse, keyboard, computer data. This is referred to as the Von Neumann bottleneck and often limits the performance of the system.[4]For the third consecutive year, U. S. business- to- business channel sales (sales through distributors and commercial resellers) increased, ending 2. The impressive growth was the fastest sales increase since the end of the recession. Sales growth accelerated in the second half of the year peaking in fourth quarter with a 6. Different systems[edit]There are a number of different types of computer system in use today. Personal computer[edit]. Basic hardware components of a modern personal computer, including a monitor, a motherboard, a CPU, a RAM, two expansion cards, a power supply, an optical disc drive, a hard disk drive, a keyboard and a mouse. Inside a custom- built computer: power supply at the bottom has its own cooling fan. The personal computer, also known as the PC, is one of the most common types of computer due to its versatility and relatively low price. Laptops are generally very similar, although they may use lower- power or reduced size components. Main article: Computer case. The computer case is a plastic or metal enclosure that houses most of the components. Those found on desktop computers are usually small enough to fit under a desk; however, in recent years more compact designs have become more commonplace, such as the all- in- one style designs from Apple, namely the i. Mac. A case can be either big or small, but the form factor of motherboard for which it is designed matters more.[6] Laptops are computers that usually come in a clamshell form factor; however, in more recent years, deviations from this form factor, such as laptops that have a detachable screen that become tablet computers in their own right, have started to emerge. Power supply[edit]A power supply unit (PSU) converts alternating current (AC) electric power to low- voltage DC power for the internal components of the computer. Laptops are capable of running from a built- in battery, normally for a period of hours.[7]Mainboard[edit]Main article: Motherboard. The motherboard is the main component of a computer. It is a large rectangular board with integrated circuitry that connects the other parts of the computer including the CPU, the RAM, the disk drives (CD, DVD, hard disk, or any others) as well as any peripherals connected via the ports or the expansion slots. Components directly attached to or to part of the motherboard include: The CPU (Central Processing Unit), which performs most of the calculations which enable a computer to function, and is sometimes referred to as the brain of the computer. It is usually cooled by a heatsink and fan, or water- cooling system. Most newer CPUs include an on- die Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). The clock speed of CPUs governs how fast it executes instructions, and is measured in GHz; typical values lie between 1 GHz and 5 GHz. Many modern computers have the option to overclock the CPU which enhances performance at the expense of greater thermal output and thus a need for improved cooling. The chipset, which includes the north bridge, mediates communication between the CPU and the other components of the system, including main memory. Random- Access Memory (RAM), which stores the code and data that are being actively accessed by the CPU. RAM usually comes on DIMMs in the sizes 2. GB, 4. GB, and 8. GB, but can be much larger. Read- Only Memory (ROM), which stores the BIOS that runs when the computer is powered on or otherwise begins execution, a process known as Bootstrapping, or "booting" or "booting up." The BIOS (Basic Input Output System) includes boot firmware and power management firmware. Newer motherboards use Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) instead of BIOS. Buses that connect the CPU to various internal components and to expand cards for graphics and sound. The CMOS battery, which powers the memory for date and time in the BIOS chip. This battery is generally a watch battery. The video card (also known as the graphics card), which processes computer graphics. More powerful graphics cards are better suited to handle strenuous tasks, such as playing intensive video games. Expansion cards[edit]Main article: Expansion card. An expansion card in computing is a printed circuit board that can be inserted into an expansion slot of a computer motherboard or backplane to add functionality to a computer system via the expansion bus. Expansions cards can be used to obtain or expand on features not offered by the motherboard. Storage devices[edit]Computer data storage, often called storage or memory, refers to computer components and recording media that retain digital data. Data storage is a core function and fundamental component of computers. The price of solid- state drives (SSD), which store data on flash memory, has dropped a lot in recent years, making them a better choice than ever to add to a computer to make booting up and accessing files faster.[8]Fixed media[edit]Data is stored by a computer using a variety of media. Hard disk drives are found in virtually all older computers, due to their high capacity and low cost, but solid- state drives are faster and more power efficient, although currently more expensive than hard drives, so are often found in more expensive computers. Some systems may use a disk array controller for greater performance or reliability. Removable media[edit]To transfer data between computers, a USB flash drive or optical disc may be used. Their usefulness depends on being readable by other systems; the majority of machines have an optical disk drive, and virtually all have a USB port. Input and output peripherals[edit]Input and output devices are typically housed externally to the main computer chassis. The following are either standard or very common to many computer systems. Input devices allow the user to enter information into the system, or control its operation. Most personal computers have a mouse and keyboard, but laptop systems typically use a touchpad instead of a mouse. Other input devices include webcams, microphones, joysticks, and image scanners. Output device[edit]Output devices display information in a human readable form. Such devices could include printers, speakers, monitors or a Braille embosser. Mainframe computer[edit]A mainframe computer is a much larger computer that typically fills a room and may cost many hundreds or thousands of times as much as a personal computer. They are designed to perform large numbers of calculations for governments and large enterprises. Departmental computing[edit]Main article: Minicomputer. In the 1. 96. 0s and 1. Supercomputer[edit]Main article: Supercomputer. A supercomputer is superficially similar to a mainframe, but is instead intended for extremely demanding computational tasks. As of November 2. Tianhe- 2, in Guangzhou, China.[9]The term supercomputer does not refer to a specific technology. Rather it indicates the fastest computers available at any given time. In mid 2. 01. 1, the fastest supercomputers boasted speeds exceeding one petaflop, or 1. Super computers are fast but extremely costly so they are generally used by large organizations to execute computationally demanding tasks involving large data sets. Super computers typically run military and scientific applications. Although they cost millions of dollars, they are also being used for commercial applications where huge amounts of data must be analyzed. For example, large banks employ supercomputers to calculate the risks and returns of various investment strategies, and healthcare organizations use them to analyze giant databases of patient data to determine optimal treatments for various diseases and problems incurring to the country. Hardware upgrade[edit]When using computer hardware, an upgrade means adding new hardware to a computer that improves its performance, adds capacity or new features. For example, a user could perform a hardware upgrade to replace the hard drive with a SSD to get a boost in performance or increase the amount of files that may be stored. Also, the user could increase the RAM so the computer may run more smoothly. The user could add a USB 3. USB 3. 0 devices, or could upgrade the GPU for extra rendering power. Performing such hardware upgrades may be necessary for older computers to meet a programs' system requirements. See also[edit]References[edit]External links[edit]. Banking Updated. First Published. Standing orders are a way of setting up a regular, fixed payment from your bank account. 38/2 standing order - customer intends to make only 10 monthly payments and complains after bank has made 13 payments - bank says it followed her instruction to pay. A standing order (or a standing instruction) is an instruction a bank account holder ('the payer') gives to his or her bank to pay a set amount at regular intervals.
Artisteer 4.3. Quick and easy-to-use web design generator for Windows with hundreds of design options and export to WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, DotNetNuke and Blogger. You can set a payment to be taken at a certain frequency (for example, the 1st of each month) for a set amount of time, such as six months. Your payments will consist of money set at an amount chosen by you. A standing order will normally be set up by: you completing a standing order form and giving it to your bankoryou setting up the standing order in branch, over the phone or using online banking. The difference between a standing order and a direct debit. Essentially, a standing order is an instruction to your bank, whereas a direct debit gives permission to a company to take money from you. You are the only person who can change the date or payment amount on your standing order. This is the main difference to a direct debit, where these details can be changed by the person or organisation you're paying. What if I don't have enough in my bank account to pay a standing order? If there isn't enough money in your account to pay a standing order, your current account may have a buffer zone. This is basically a small interest- free overdraft that your bank won't charge you for if you creep into it. Exceed the buffer zone and your bank or building society may not pay the standing order and they may charge you a fee. If paying a standing order pushes you into an unauthorised overdraft, you may have to pay additional charges as well. If you know beforehand that you won't have enough money in your bank account, the best thing to do is arrange a temporary overdraft with your bank to pay the standing order. Alternatively, you could try to negotiate a later payment date with the person in question. If you miss standing orders regularly, you should consider changing payment dates or paying by a different method. How long does it take for a standing order to reach the recipient? Generally, it takes three working days for a standing order payment to move from one bank account to another, so your money may not move over weekends or bank holidays. The bank usually submits the payment instruction on day one, when your account is debited. The payment is then processed and reaches the recipient's bank on day two, which then updates its accounts and makes funds available in the recipient's bank account from the start of day three. How do I cancel a standing order? You are the only person that can cancel a standing order. You can cancel a standing order at any point in branch, over the phone or via secure online banking. However, make sure you inform the person or organisation in receipt of the payment before you do, as you could incur fees or penalties for non- payment. Remember that if you don't pay a bill on time, this could also affect your credit rating and it will appear on your credit file. What Next?
